Tournament location
The play play area will be along the Amelia river, in
downtown Fernandina Beach, just south of the Harbor
Marina.
Please use the map on
the right to familiarize yourself with the island. From
the river (on the west side) to the ocean (the east side),
via Atlantic Ave, is exactly 2
miles.
Metered taxi fares run around $4 to $12 (per trip, not
p.p.) for most of the island.

Airport & local transport
Jacksonville (JAX)
is the airport of choice.
Being on the North side of Jacksonville, it is a smooth
25/30 min. drive to Fernandina Beach, on I-95. A bit
longer at peak times, which in this case would be Friday
4-6pm driving to the island and Monday 7-9am leaving the
island.
Taxi service from JAX
to anywhere on Amelia Island is a flat $47.00 for a
5-passenger van. If you give us your flight data we can
match you up with others who fly in on the same flight /
around the same time
and save you some on taxi fares.
If you find attractive
airfares, do share them with us. Someone else from your
area could well use them too! |

For players who fly in
from overseas and rent a car, Orlando (MCO) - at
3 hrs drive from Amelia Island - is also an option.

Lodging
Amelia Island has an
excellent tourism website, and accommodations are
plentiful, for all tastes and budgets.
Regularly there are specials, such as 3rd or 4th night
free.
Hotel group rates (on our
blog)
For groups of 4 or
more, and folks who want to stay a few extra nights, we
recommend to look into beach cottages and condo's.
If you rent directly from owners, do ask for the address.
If you are car-less, the Northern half of the
island would be best.
Of course, you can also
check sites such as Expedia, Orbitz, Craiglist, etc... |
